The 39 Steps

Long before North by Northwest, Alfred Hitchcock made The 39 Steps, his first tale of manhunts and mistaken identity. Prints of this film have been sorely neglected over the years and various VHS releases have been poor, but LaserLight has a done a fine job transferring an acceptable print to DVD. Criterion is planning to release a disc of this film as well with several supplements, but if you just want the film you can't beat the rock-bottom street price on this one. Introduction by Tony Curtis, trailer of North by Northwest, good chapter selection.
