The Great Train Robbery
The British have undertaken a costly war in the Crimea in the 1850s, and they pay their army in gold a payroll that travels every month from London to Folkestone by train. Four keys are needed to access the safe, but since nobody has ever robbed a moving train, the authorities feel their gold is secure. However, a trio of con-artists (Sean Connery, Donald Sutherland, and Lesley-Anne Down) don't agree. Written and directed by Michael Crichton, The Great Train Robbery is a masterful heist movie with great period detail and lots of fun suspense. Excellent transfer of a near-pristine source print, new 5.1 mix, commentary track with Crichton, trailer.
